“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”
Daniel’s prophecy is one of the most prominent passages when it comes to the end times.
Firstly, Daniel’s 70 weeks prophecies about the different events that will occur in the near future. Most bible scholars agree that the numerical values found in Daniel’s passage are interpreted as years in our current timeline. The 7 year period is expected to begin when Israel makes a covenant with many nations, which will result to three and a half years of peace then the building of the third temple. This will then be followed by three and a half years of persecussion to those who will refuse to receive the mark of the beast. Thereafter, the final 7 years will be completed and the second coming of Christ will be fullfiled, and satan will no longer have dominion on earth.
On the otherhand, many are anticipating the rapture. With this in mind, people are often prepared spiritually, but are unprepared physically for the great tribulation. Many are expecting to be raptured and escape the great tribulation, just before the third temple is built. The exact return date of the LORD is not written in the bible. Therefore, it is highly recommended to prepare food and water supplies while awaiting for the rupture. This will also be an opportunity to share the gospel during the great tribulation especially to those who will refuse the mark of the beast.
To conclude, the third temple being built in Jerusalem’s temple mount signals the middle part of the remaining 7 years in Daniel’s prophecy. Having food and water reserves is indispensible in preparation for the great tribulation while anticipating the rapture.
